Former Miss America Ericka Dunlap Says Her Seat At Pageant Was Moved Because She’s Black + Her Thoughts On Kenya Moore

DUNLAP HAROLD BERGERON

Complete Devastation To The Nation

Chile I was shocked when Ericka Dunlap, a former Miss America contacted me last night to share with me a disturbing chain of events that took place last week at the Miss America Pageant. Ericka informed me that she was cursed at very harshly by a pageant producer and then two producers attempted to physically move her from her seat after she refused to move. This sounds like some real Rosa Parks / We Shall Overcome kind of mess. WTF? You know The Doll had to get Ericka on the phone. While speaking with Ericka about this alleged racist ordeal, I also used the opportunity to get her thoughts on fellow African American history maker Kenya Moore. Check out what all Ericka had to say.Dunlap — the first black woman to win Miss Florida in 2003 — tells TMZ, “I was sitting there on the aisle, and during the first commercial break during top 15 announcement, a producer came up to me and said, ‘Get out of that seat. I need the seat. I don’t give a f**k who you are. Get out of the f**king seat.’”

Dunlap says she refused to move because of the producer’s tone, telling us, “I was spoken to as if I didn’t matter. If I were any other Miss America, I would have never been spoken to like that. But I’m the only black one who comes back.”

Dunlap says an assistant producer eventually came over and helped the first producer physically remove her from her seat — “I was mortified.” Dunlap says she was eventually relocated. ~ TMZ

While talking to Ericka, she made it a point to mention that she is one of the only Miss America’s that returns to the pageant year after year and really feels like her attendance or contribution she made to the organization is not appreciated.  She also made it a point to note that several times she told the show producer who she was and that’s when he went on the tirade about not giving an F**k etc.

Ericka Dunlap On Kenya Moore

Kenya-Moore2There was no need to let Ericka hang up the phone without milking the conversation for all I could. When I asked Ericka what were her thoughts on Kenya Moore and the media blitz that has surrounded her lately, here is what she had to say:
Miss America is the girl nest door.
Miss USA is the girl you always wanted next door.
Ericka then went on to describe the key distinctions between the two pageants. Loosely paraphrased, she said that Miss America is judged based on beauty, talent, scholarship, and community involvement, whereas Miss USA is judged on beauty and body. Could this be the reason why there is always some sort of controversy surrounding Miss USA, from DUI’s to Play Boy?
These are my thoughts and not Ericka’s. Based on Ericka’s description of the key distinctions between the two organizations, it would seem to me that the Miss America organization is more likely to yield a more well rounded wholesome pageant winner. That being said, Kenya should not get bent all out of shape when people mistake her for title for Miss America. Hell, its the better of the two anyway.
