With the addition of Latocha Scott to R&B Divas, Xscape and all the drama surrounding their breakup has been given new life. It has been 20 years since Xscape released their first single ‘Just Kicking It’ in 1993. The short-lived quartet definitely died out before they reached their full potential. Having 3 uber successful albums, fans are still asking “what really happened, and does it really matter 20 years later?” Well, for Kandi, it seems that somethings do still matter because they have had a lasting impact on her spirit and her reputations. Recently Kandi talked to Sister 2 Sister Magazine about some things that were said publicly that left her feeling some kind of way. Catch these T’s

I’m just going to be honest and tell you, I don’t feel like all the members of my group, they don’t really have love for me like that. Tiny has love for me, but over the years people have told flat-out lies about me in public, dogged me, blamed me for everything that done went wrong in their life. To me, it’s just a situation where I feel like I don’t want to go back to that.
To this day now, I have to see people try to say that I had sex with Jermaine’s father. She said that just to make me look bad to people. She came back to apologize to me, but she never apologized in public. It’s not true. It was a flat-out lie. When people do stuff to try to damage you or bring you down to the public, that’s hateful.
That’s just not something I want to revisit.
I can definitely dig wanting a public apology. Set the record straight. Yes it is noble that Tamika apologized. However, in addition to being sorry, help reverse the damage that you caused. If you said it publicly, apologies publicly, point blank. It is kind of jacked up to apologize to someone in private, yet desire to publicly carry the title of “not being in the wrong”. No shame in it, we all say things we don’t necessarily mean when we are hurt and upset. Surely there is enough blame to equally distribute to all the members of the group.
On to Kandi. I do feel like Kandi needs to re-evaluate her stance and come up off it. Like damn, it wouldn’t kill anyone if all the ladies link up ONE TIME for a photo, or a song, or an appearance. Sometimes the situation is about more than you. I get it, recording a full fledged album and touring may be out of the question. Let’s face it, so much time has passed and all 4 of the ladies have their own separate lives and responsibilities. Not to mention that there probably wouldn’t be much money to be made once you split the money 4 ways. For someone like Kandi I’m sure it is a better investment of her time from a financial standpoint to devote her energies to the undertakings that will yield the greatest return. Yet in still, some sort of collaboration or project should be considered. They do say music heals the soul…
These next few months are going to be pretty interesting. As Latocha Scott gains more access to the public through her R&B Divas platform, is interviewed and questioned more about Xscape and the potential for a reunion, even greater life is going to be given to this whole situation. This thing could go one of two ways. It could cause further animosity and division or we could have a happy ending and the ladies end up reuniting in some capacity. Only time well till. Until then, somebody call over to TvOne and have them get started on the Xscape Unsung.

I’m over it. That ship has sailed. I loved Xscape but judging from the quality of Tosha and Timkias performance at the So So Def reunion. I won’t run out to purchase tickets to an xscape concert. Duets are supposed to blend harmoniously and not compete and clash.
Over it! The Soso Def Reunion concert is over and that would have been a perfect opportunity for them to reunite. If they get back together to so something, cool, if not, oh wells.

We none know exactly what happended, however the Scott sister went on to be mothers & wives not baby mamas & jump offs. Im pretty show if they really wanted to they could’ve did a KC & Jojo with no problem. Kandi & Tiny are doing there thing not bc the pressed on from the success of Xscape….Tiny chased & fought & “managed” & got cheated on for years until TI put a ring on it hence forth gave her $$$ & backing to become successful. Kandi became known of again via NeNe’s show aka RHOA!! Kandi hatin on Kenya for stealing Phaedra’s idea, however Kandi openly admits she got the idea for Bedroom Kandi from a European woman who became a millionaire off of selling her ownline of adult toys. I remember the interview but I don’t remember her saying JD’s dad (I heard that about Tamar and that his wife kicked her ass). I do remember her saying JD and Kandi admitting that f’ing JD was just something to do. I heard about Kandi with Gerald Levert, Shakespeare, that she slept with 1 or 2 members or Jagged Edge, Block (Riley’s dad) while he was married. You get the point. So I don’t understand why this big public apology when Kandi has been around.

I think it is Maya Angelou who said “When people show you who they are, believe them”. How many times in a relationship should you allow someone to talk about you negatively until you have enough sense to move on? If Tamkia wants a reunion, she is grown and knows what she needs to do to make a way for one to happen.

So many say on the comment boards that the “Scott sister were the real talent of the group” well then why are they the two unrelevant ones. I think LaTocha is truly talented and her sister compliments her well. Kandi and Tiny choose to stay in the music business and become successful in their own right. Hi! Yes we are told to forgive and forget. Lord knows it is hard. I understand where Khandi is coming from also. It’s not about letting it go! It’s about damage control. YOU may not have experienced the affects of what bad lies can cause. People have actually died because of lies, served/currently serving prison time because of lies, loss jobs because of lies, and so on. We have to agree that it’s the audience of these lies that are being told that is our concern and what they will do with it. None of us love being lied on period. Furthermore, imagine finding out the TRUTH after receiving the lies and reacting negatively towards the person/people who were lied on to you. What would be YOUR apology? “Oops, My Bad?”

It’s kind of sad when people can’t forgive and move on. It is very obvious that Kandy can’t move on. For goodness sake the girl apologized for the lies she told. It is not petty. You put out lies in public on a radio station and then want to privately apologize. She did the dirt, Kandi just wants it to go on record that she will admit that she was telling lies. Yes, it’s been some years ago, but still it is something that needs to be cleaned up. They grew up together and had a friendship before the group. She jumped down Kandi throat about her being the reason Xscape broke up. Truth be told it was Tasha who wanted more royalties and money than any other member and she refused to sign the contract. So, there is way more to the story then what is being said in the public. Kandi asked her to apologize on the radio and say it was lies, Tasha refused as she wanted to save face. So, if you are really sorry then apology the same way.

Everything private shouldn’t be made public & people should discuss ones fault in private; reading many of these post is like sitting among senior citizens comparing their ailments. As you grow older you develop maturity & forgiveness is forgiveness. This is one reason why I limit my interactions with women. Even with age many are still ignorant & bitter.

I would LOVE to see an Xscape reunion. I think this really did hurt Kandi a lot. She talked about it a couple of weeks ago on KKN. MAYBE, just maybe if Ms. Scott does make an apology and they sit and talk, Xscape can do an Unsung or a MTV Behind the Music. No one says they have to make an album, but an appearance would be WONDERFUL! Xscape was one of the first girl groups that made me love their music!
