Chile, the Love & Hip Hop developments that have taken place this week alone have got me all worked up. Somebody bring me a cocktail or three! The day after K.Michelle’s backstage altercation with castmate Mimi Faust, K. Michelle performed to a sold out crowd in Washington DC’s Howard Theater where she announced for the world to hear she will be leaving Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. Catch these T’sSo why is it that K. Michelle has decided to leave Love & Hip Hop Atlanta?

Perhaps this move is for the better. For someone like K. Michelle, the whole Love & Hip Hop platform was always about the music. Unlike many fly by night reality television stars, K. Michelle came to the table with talent. A chain of bad decisions and unfortunate events led to the stifling of what began as a very promising career. With her re-introduction to the masses through Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, and her new recording deal with Warner, that promising career seems to be back on track.

There is no question that K. Michelle is talented. Truth be told, the girl can sing most of the artist who our out right now under the table. The only thing left for K. Michelle to do is to turn around her public image and change the perception people have of her. It may take a little time, but it can be done. Look at Wendy Williams and Nene Leakes. I often feel like reality TV is a double edge sword. Sometimes the less people know about you, the better off you are. I’m just glad that now K. Michelle has garnered enough public interest that moving forward, the conversations can be about the music and not the mess.

All you K. Michelle fans don’t fret. K says she will be a part of the first 6 or so episodes. Beyond that, she says all we will see of her is the music because that is the only thing she has time for. Yes Gawd Bish! You better say that. K. Michelle will not be on season three of Love & Hip Hop but does have plans for her own reality television show.

One thing is for certain, R&B right now is in a state of emergency. There is definitely a market for real R&B singers. I honestly feel like the genre is K. Michelle’s for the taking if she plays her cards right.
