Latocha Scott of Xscape is OFFICIALLY An R&B Diva – ohh and Angie Stone
So I had already told you guys some time ago that Angie Stone was being added to the cast of R&B Divas. Well, I wasn’t expecting this one, but Latocha Scott from the girl group Xscape has OFFICIALLY been added to the cast as well. I spoke to some people from her camp and an official press release will be issued later today. This adds a really interesting dynamic to the show and here is why. Catch these T’s.
It was rumored that Latocha had a reality television show in the making with VH1. The show was supposed to be about her re-entry into the music business and life as a mother and a wife. I’m sure her and those around her figured out that an ensemble cast would probably work better for her because independently her story isn’t grand enough to carry an entire show. The Gag is, Latocha’s true story line is the Xscape breakup and all the rumors surrounding what really happened. This news comes at no better time considering that SoSo Def is getting ready to do their 20 year tribute concert where there WILL NOT be this big Xscape reunion that we all hoped for.

I’ve got a feeling that the addition of Latocha Scott to R&B Divas is going to open up a huge can of worms surrounding Xscape. I’m sure we can expect to see Tameka who is Latocha’s sister and 1/4 of Xscape on the show as well. That being said, now all 4 members will have a platform to tell their sides of the story. All this time I thought we where going to have to wait to Unsung moved up to the 90′s to get the T.
I can’t really complain about Latocha being added. Undeniably she can sing. Honestly, I do miss hearing her voice on the radio. I hope that her and Nicci Gilbert mesh well and we get to her some of their trials and tribulations of being in girl groups. We already know that Angie Stone is going to bring the pain so I am not going to even waste any time writing about that. I’ll save my Angie Stone opinions for when I have some real T to spill.

This should be great. Now we can get more insight surrounding the Xscape breakup. I love how Kandi is very mature and classy about not saying anything negative about the other group members.
Now we all can see why “Kandi Is Throwing Big Gurl Under The Bus” her Ghetto Behavior is still the same….I digress, I guess Kandi is somewhere saying there is no way she’ll be part of anything that “Mud Duck” is in….Good for U Kandi.

Kandi said that her problem is not necessarily with Tocha… she said that she doesn’t feel that they had love for her like that. You can’t knock how someone feels; however, it may not necessarily be true. Kandi also mentioned that if they wanted to sit and seriously talk about their issues, she would. LaTocha has reached out to her several times even before the So So Def thing. While it would be nice if Xscape got back together, I think it is more important for them to get past their issues and to not harbor resentment. No one is promised tomorrow. I have heard Kandi speak negatively about her bandmates (the Scott sisters), and of course, we all know about Tamika putting Kandi on blast YEARS ago. LaTocha has maintained that she has love for all of them, including Kandi. You can love someone and not necessarily see eye-to-eye with them. They were kids back then, and have all grown and matured. I just don’t want any of them to be in a position saying “wow, I wish I had the chance to say ‘I’m sorry’, but now, it’s too late.”
In that photo she look like she need all the money she can get. Her cake face makeup is seriously lighter than the rest of her body. She has a lovely voice but this cast of has beens is not going to help her career. It been over and buried just like everyone elses. Bring back some old 90′s music and put it out for all the “aunties” across America but making it in main stream media is not goign to happen for any of them. Then 15 minutes been over, sorry but you cant live in the past.
Xscape’s mess is tiring. I want positive divas like Shanice and En Vogue’s Cindy Herron-Braggs!

I’m not that excited. Shes the reason my favorite girl group broke up. I think its too late for her wanting to be on reality TV, Kandi and Tiny got that. I think it’ll be alright when it first comes out but eventually simmer down. & I thought Nicci Gilbert got fired?

I’m not really interested in 20 year old tea either. Especially when it’s pretty much “this is why i was two faced”. Who gives a F at this point. She (and her sister)told someone business when she shouldnt have, was not sorry at the time, and as a result the group broke up because of the obviously rift of 2 group members against one. What more is there to tell?. If they wanted to patch things up they would have by now.
My uncle was a party promoter in the 80′s and early 90′s and could spill tea all day on a bunch of former singers and tv stars but he doesnt because all we say is “who?, what show? oh I think I know that song.” Sometimes it’s entertaining like when he told us about Sherman Helmsley getting into a bar fight but for the most part if it wasnt for google I wouldnt know who the people he are referring to are.
Those girls (Xscape) need to call Iyanla Vanzant…and work it out…it all sounds petty…no one hurt anyone else career…so get over it!
LaTocha is not who broke up the group… there are four people in the group… four sides (at least)… not to mention others who had an interest in them. People have only been hearing Kandi’s side for years, so many have already (unfairly) judged Tocha. Now since she is speaking out, people are saying she’s “lying” when the truth is, we really don’t know if what we are comparing her words to is true. None of us were in the room, in the meetings, or a part of the group. Lots of times, “fans” are the worst, because they will say or spread things that keep the confusion going. It’s sad, but sadly, that’s us. We say awful things to and about people, childishly calling names and being experts of everything and nothing. *shrug*
