Mary J. Blige Goes In For The Gays

For those of you who have not gotten the memo, rather you are truly in support of gay marriage or not, in order for your brand to succeed or stay afloat, you better say you are, or at a minimum, keep your damn mouth closed on the subject. I’m not even going to go down that road with y’all on what God said and what the bible says because we can have that stale tired debate all day long. Non the less, these days it seems like the popular thing to do is to take a stance on the non popular things. Mary J. Blige, a self proclaimed “Born Again Christian” had some pretty neat things to say about gay marriage. Catch these T’s

The Grammy award-winning hip-hop superstar silenced her naysayers in an interview with Los Angeles Confidential. “I would say this to those people: I’m not God,” she told writer Kevin Sessums. “God said not to judge anyone lest you be judged. That’s it. Who am I to point my finger? You’ve got to walk in love. To say you do not want people to be happy is so mean, so not me.”
Blige, 41, previously expressed her thoughts on same-sex marriage at the Democratic National Convention last year, telling civil rights attorney and radio host Yetta Kurland, “I think people that support love, it’s amazing. It’s love.”
In 2007, she told The Advocate, “The majority of my fans are gay … I have to really make sure that they know I’m paying attention to the fact that they support me, and I support them.” ~ Huffington Post
