Everybody in Miami knows what’s going on when it comes to Latta Lafrance, the fight involving her daughter, and the poor Nissan truck that subsequently got destroyed. I promise you guys I don’t have the time to recap the entire situation and pull all the videos, so this post if for the people in the know. To my readers outside of Miami, I’m so sorry. The best I can do for you is embed the below news clip so you can get a high level understanding of what’s going on.
Many of you may remember Latta Lafrance as one of the contributing parties to the ghetto ass fight that took place at the section 8 office .
Anywhoo here are a few high level facts and then we’ll get into the discussion at hand.
- Latta’s daughter was involved in a physical altercation at the county fair which resulted in her getting jumped and sprayed with pepper spray.
- Latta went to the high school and got into a physical altercation with one of the girls involved in the fair jumping. At said time, Latta allegedly took the girl’s cell phone.
- Girl with stolen phone and family drove a nissan truck to Latta’s house in an attempt to recoup the cell phone and most likely fight.
- Latta and company were prepared to fight, shot 2 shots in the air, and destroyed the Nissan truck with an ax of some sort.
Those are the very high level details without me getting into the petty ins and outs.
The question I’m posing is, was it worth it? I, along with any other mature adult knows the answer to this question. Hell no it wasn’t worth it! As far as I am concerned, Latta Lafrance handled this all wrong! For one, teenagers fight. You win some and you lose some. Everyone reading this can think back to high school when somebody got jumped. It happens. It does not make it right, but it happens. Considering that Latta’s daughter was not seriously injured, I’m of the mindset that she should have handled this situation through the proper channels, the law! Unfortunately, the people on the other end of Lafrance’s wrath are handling things through the proper channels, albeit voluntarily or by default. Had Latta, opted to handle things properly, maybe, just maybe it would be the young ladies who jumped her daughter wearing the orange jumpsuit.
Here are my closing thoughts. There are 3 roles of a parent, to nurture, provide, and guide. You can’t do either of the 3 from behind bars. While I get that anyone’s initial emotional response would have been to go “whoop ass”, at some point maturity was supposed to take over and rational thoughts should have followed. So for what it’s worth, in the name of “defending her daughter”, Latta went and “whooped ass”, destroyed a truck, and showed them hoes she ain’t the one to be played with. In exchange she copped a handful of charges and is potentially facing a lengthy bid upstate. Who really won?
