[PHOTOS/VIDEO] TV One Hosts R&B Divas Launch Party In Atlanta, Funky Dineva Gets All The Tea

Posted on Aug 11 2012 - 2:48pm by Funky Dineva

Yes GAWD Hunty!  Thursday night (8-9-12), TV One threw an ole NASTY premiere party for their new reality tv series R&B Divas, and The Doll was all up in the mix. When I got the invite to the party, it came with a warning that went, “can you please tell Funky Dineva to be nice.” Let me first say I am not mean or nice, I am truthful. I report for the people, the way it happened .The truth isn’t republican or democratic, its independent. With that being said, get into these TRUTHS as I give you the run down on the night…

The event was held at Ventanas, one of Atlanta’s premiere event spaces. Bay-Bay after the sun went down, the nasty views that this place has were the perfect backdrop to what was going to be a good night. When we pulled up to the venue the line was wrapped around the building with well dressed, good smelling folks who had come out to get their party on. You could feel the spirit of positivity in the air.

As I was walking up to the door, all I could think to myself was,  TV One better not pull it. The food and the liquor better be free! lol. Once past security, and onto the elevator, the anticipation began to mount. The elevator doors opened and BAM, a room with panoramic views of Atlanta, comfortably packed with all the who’s who of Black Hollywood. The moment I stepped off the elevator I was assured that this was the place to be. First stop, THE BAR.

Needless to say, the liquor was FREE and so were the photo ops! Good Job TV One!!!

The room was jammed packed with the usual local Atlanta celebrities. But one in particular that I got the chance to chat with for about 15 minutes was Lele Lyons from SWV. By now i was good and cocktailed, so I had a very candid conversation with LeLe. It went something like this, “Lele girl, no T no shade, but up until this last cd y’all put out, we didn’t know you could even sing.”  She laughed but nodded her head in understanding. We chatted it up a bit more and she agreed to do a sit down interview with The Doll. Y’all know I love me some SWV. If you have not heard their latest CD, I Miss Us, you must buy it now! [SWV TURNED IT!!!!! NEW ALBUM, “I MISS US” REVIEW]

Like I said, everybody was out! Y’all get the point. Get into the rest of the pictures and the video. Be sure to tune into R&B Divas on TV One August 20th…

on this issue, it may not be a taboo matter but
usually folks don’t speak about such subjects.
