I told you guys ay back when that SWV’s latest cd was the best true to r&b cd presently out. Well apparently the Illuminati people who sit in the room and decide who is going to win a Grammy think the same thing too. SWV along with Anita Baker have both nabbed Grammy nominations for Best Traditional R&B Performance award for covers of songs by other artists. Yes Gawd! Catch these T’s.

SWV grabbed the nomination for their cover of If Only You Knew, originally recorded by Patti Labelle in 1983 where it hit number 46 on the billboard charts.

Mother Anita Baker snatched a nomination for her jazzy remake of the Tyrese song Lately. 

Coko, lead singer of  SWV tweeted this about the nomination:

“I’m so hyped & excited right now for @LeleeLyons @TajGeorge & myself!!! #GrammyNod!”

Unfortunately , Coko could not celebrate with her husband who produced the track, he was on a flight on his way to Africa.

Tyrese describe hearing the news of Anita Bakers nomination as one of the best nights of his life.

Yes Gawd and congratulations to these women. This here is proof that r&b still lives.
