Keep your Beyonce, your Kelly Clarkson, and your Jennifer Hudson. MLK weekend 2013, Tamar Braxton was in Atlanta making her rounds and collecting her checks. Friday night Tamar made an appearance at Atlanta’s Museum Bar. Saturday night, she dedicated her time to the kidz of Atlanta and all the kidz who traveled in. The Doll had the pleasure of hosting her appearance at XS Ultra Lounge. When I arrived at the club, then line was wrapped around the building. The Kidz were dead serious about seeing them some Tamar Braxton.

Catch these T’s. Tamar must be one of the Barack Obama’s daughters because before she got to the club, there was all kinds of security, body guards and other staff of Tamar & Vince scoping out the club, sealing off exits, clearing the stage, etc. I was the host of the event and I was made to get off the stage. I was thinking to myself, well where the hell am I going to introduce her from, the bathroom???? HOWEVER, after Tamar walked in an realized i was standing off the stage, she immediately sent for me, apologized, and started making small talk. I can appreciate that. I guess her team is just doing their jobs. I GUESS.

I wouldn’t be Funky Dineva if I didn’t share how the children were gouped at this appearance. It is reasonable to assume that because Tamar has a hit song out right (Love and War) now with a video that just dropped last week that she would be singing right? I guess all of us are unreasonable because uhmmmm yeah, mama was there to smile, wave, snap a few pictures and leave. Mind you the club was hitting the kidz over the head for $30+.

Being a traveling performer myself I’m willing to bet the club did not PAY for her to sing. They probably paid the minimum amount to get her out of the house. That’s alright though because The Doll had a remedy for that.vAfter Tamar spoke on the mic, as she was leaving the stage, the DJ started playing Love and War. I immediately took to center stage and started singing the hell out of that first verse. Tamar, in an effort to show who was truly The Boss snatched the mic and began to sing for her life. Yes Gawd! The Children went up! All in all Tamar was a really good sport about it all.

Hey Miss Vince. Vince was there. He looked “over it” the whole time. He was very nice though…
